Reset and restore your fundamental sense of wellbeing and center while deepening your journey of healing. Connect to your deepest potential in this precious lifetime.
Have you ever discovered something incredible, and then wanted to share it with everyone you meet because you are so confident of its life changing potential? This is exactly how I feel about Yoga Nidra... It has been a game changer for me personally since 2004 when I first began studying and practicing with the founder of iRest Yoga Nidra, Richard Miller, and my teacher and mentor Joan Ruvinsky.
This form of deep rest meditation offers a journey of healing, of cultivating tools to navigate change, and of becoming more skillful in meeting the joys and challenges in this very human journey... while providing perspective to that which awakens us to our fullest potential, and truest sense of authenticity. Yoga Nidra has shifted how I understand myself and the world around me... bringing an ease that is akin to a great exhalation of relief. It is a privilege to tailor this practice for you... Enjoy! xo Clearlight
Based on the ancient teachings of meditation, Yoga Nidra is a transformative practice that leads to healing and well-being at all levels – physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
You can practice Yoga Nidra for a variety of reasons: to relax deeply and to release stress; to support both physical and psychological healing; and to discover an innate peace of mind and unshakeable sense of well-being that is present in all of life's circumstances.
This is one of those rare, incredible practices that is genuinely open and beneficial to everyone, whether this is the first time you've meditated or you're a seasoned meditator with decades of practice. iRest is a guided meditation usually practiced in a comfortable lying down position, in which participants are guided into the deepest levels of relaxation and inquiry.
The practice of Yoga Nidra reveals our innate intelligence and inherent wisdom which burns away negative patterns of conditioning – thus creating the space for the spontaneous physical, psychological and interpersonal transformations that so often occur with this practice.
This form of Yoga NIdra meditation is based on iRest, an evidence-based, mind-body approach that is the result of over forty years of observation, research and hands-on development by Dr. Richard Miller and the iRest community.

What I find interesting about yoga nidra is that it is effortless. I feel the tangible benefit even if I sleep through a whole session. Without sounding too lazy, it’s very liberating to just go somewhere, relax completely and go on a guided journey. That doesn’t happen even in the movies for me, or during sleep. Yoga Nidra does a better job of turning off my chattering brain.
I wanted to tell you how the practice and yoga Nidra helped me find peace in this strange time! It was such a revelation to be able to let go of all the expectations and the stories that I have been holding on to. What should be, what shouldn't be. I am so grateful to you, as always, for being the gateway to another perspective. You truly are a gift!!!!!! Thank you for making this recording and for bringing your practice into my living room.
I was experiencing anxiety when I first started practicing Yoga Nidra with Clearlight. I met the sensations of anxiety during the practice of yoga nidra and the anxiety went away on its own. I also use the 'opposite feelings' technique and it helps me to be more confident and relaxed.
The amazing power of this practice is that it accesses a level of consciousness that is deeper and fuller than otherwise felt during the course of the day. It rests somewhere between sleep and being awake and provides an unrestricted access to intuition, to true mindfulness and physical presence. It is restorative and contemplative all at once.
When I follow Clearlight's Yoga Nidra, I never know where I am going- but once the practice has finished I know that I have been to where I needed to go.
During these yoga nidra practices I have questioned my identity, my authenticity, my place in society, in the world, in the universe. I might not have concrete answers, but I feel closer to the essential that I was before. It was like meeting and old friend, like being acquainted back with... myself.
Today's Yoga Nidra with Clearlight was exactly what I needed. I felt more awake and rested after our Yoga Nidra session than after a full night's sleep.
The Yoga Nidra gave me clarity on an issue I was dealing with at school (I'm a principal at an elementary school). I left work on Friday not knowing how to address or deal with this specific issue. I decided to let it go and deal with it on Monday. As I settled in for the practice I drifted in and out of sleep. When I awoke at the end I instantly knew how to deal with the situation. It just popped into my mind... it just happened.
I have found that in times of stress or anger I have had an easier time stepping back and watching the emotion rise in me and knowing it is simply another movement... When I started the classes I was at quite a difficult spot in my life. I truly feel that Yoga Nidra has helped me through this time – I have felt strengthened, bolstered and encouraged by it. I can't say thank you enough!!
Personally, Yoga Nidra has offered me valuable opportunity to re-learn how to rest and restore my sense of being able to access feelings of well-being and resiliency. It has helped me shift my sense of a seeming relentlessness in what is a fairly normal, busy life keeping up with work and kids on less than optimal sleep. Over the weeks of the class (and now that it has concluded) I have noticed that what I would now describe an "I'm tired" story whose tentacles had a grip on many aspects of my approach to day-to-day life has been teased apart and replaced with other, more interesting, nourishing and (frankly) more productive feelings, sensations and deep reflections in both my the sleeping and waking life. On a moment-to-moment basis, I feel actually more alive, and am grateful for the practice which I'm finding has provided ways outside of class to help me pause in the face of things/moments I find personally difficult.
It was a great privilege to have the opportunity to take Yoga Nidra with Clearlight Gerald. Her beautiful, calm, soothing voice was such an antidote to the contrasting loud and often-frantic soundscape of the city. She led us easily into a deep, relaxed, meditative state where we could accept ourselves as we are and the world as it is. I highly recommend a regular, weekly practice with her to bring yourself back to your true nature and to create an intention that will lead you to greater happiness as you discover your inner bliss that is always there but often clouded by layers of insecurity, self doubt and negative emotions. Free yourself and shine. Clearlight can take you there.
I had an experience last week that was just amazing. You know how in families there are longstanding "issues and controversies" - well, once again I got into a discussion about one of these with my dad. But I was able to think about how it wasn't going to help the situation to get upset. I lasted a whole hour and managed to finish the conversation with both my dad and I feeling OK - even happy for the first time in my life, instead of freaking out in anger and becoming really upset and crying, I was able to remain calm and articulate when I would feel the intense emotions rising with each other. He even called to thank me the next day for this - I cannot tell you how incredible this is. My husband was completely amazed. So I was left feeling like something really positive came out of what is usually very, very negative, and I felt that Yoga Nidra, yoga practice itself was really having a positive effect on my life.
